One wonders, does a lemon tree know the difference between night and day, it must , it needs the light; one wonders, does it understand dry and wet, it must it needs water; one wonders does it know that with each year, each month, each day, it looses a day, a month, a year; it must.
This artwork is a prototype clock built with an electrical engineer to run on "lemon tree" time. It is powered by lemons aimed at creating a new system of time based on the needs of a lemon tree. The clock is divided into 6 chronological units AA:BB:CC. AA = a 12 hour cycle changing hourly from 1-12. 1 is 6:00am and 12 is 6:00pm. This indicates when the tree should be given sunlight. BB = a week cycle from 1-7. 1 = Monday, 2 = Tuesday...7 = Wednesday. This indicates when the tree should be given water at the end of the week on the 7th day. CC= Yearly cycle starting at 50 when the tree was born and counting down to 0 when the tree will stop giving fruit.
